Origin Iran, format 224 × 270 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. The covered area is about 6.05 m² (7.3' × 8.9'). Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

What it is made of

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. Large enough to hold a full seating group.

Knot density and quality

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
