About this rug

Origin Iran, format 250 × 350 cm — a Nain made entirely by hand. That is roughly 8.75 m² of floor, about 8.2' × 11.5'. Nain rugs are traditionally finely knotted, with pale ivory and blue palettes.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. A format for large rooms, with space for an entire seating arrangement.

On the knot count

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². At this density even small-scale motifs can be worked out cleanly.
