Description

Overview

Origin India, format 197 × 290 cm — a Tabriz made entirely by hand. That is roughly 5.71 m² of floor, about 6.5' × 9.5'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

What it is made of

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 10-12mm.

Where it fits

The rug is rectangular. A size where sofa and armchairs can rest their front legs on the rug.

Fineness of the knotting

The stated knot density is 400,000–499,999 knots/m². Knotting at this density allows detailed drawing and soft transitions between colours.

On the colourway

Colour is recorded as multicolour. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.

Age and condition

Stated condition: new.
