A Tabriz from Iran, measuring 79 × 345 cm. That is roughly 2.73 m² of floor, about 2.6' × 11.3'. Tabriz is one of the oldest and most important weaving centres in Persia.

Materials and construction

Stated material: cotton warp, new wool. It is entirely hand-knotted. Pile height is given as 5-7mm.

The format suits the space in front of a sofa, a small dining table, or a study.

Colour and appearance

It is catalogued under blue / Türkis. With traditionally dyed wool, small variations of tone within one field are normal.
